Sulaimon Seals It for Duke

The Duke Blue Devils have been on a roll this week by earlier scoring a commitment from five star forward Alex Murphy for the class of 2012.

Then on Wednesday, the Devils defeated their fiercest and in-state rival North Carolina 79-73 behind Nolan Smith's 34 points.

On Thursday, the ball kept rolling in Duke's favor as five star shooting guard Rasheed Sulaimon from Houston committed. Sulaimon is a typical Duke type of player as he can stroke the three ball with ease and is a very talented scorer much in the Jay Williams mold.

Sulaimon is 6'3" and most comfortable on the wing where he can knock down the three or slash to the rack and finish. Perhaps, the best quality possessed by Sulaimon is his incredible first step.

He is very quick and has a high basketball IQ, sound like a Dukie yet? Sulaimon said that Baylor and Texas were also in his consideration but his AAU coach Marland Lowe said that Duke has been far out in front for quite some time now.

Sulaimon is ranked no.18 overall by ESPN and no.19 overall by scout.com. Even though the Devils lose stars Smith and Kyle Singler but should boast a squad next year including Kyrie Irving, Austin Rivers, all three Plumlee brothers, Seth Curry, Andre Dawkins, Quinn Cook, Michael Gbinije, Josh Hairston and Tyler Thornton.

No matter how many of the great players recruited and signed by Duke go pro early, they keep reloading and re-oiling the machine and as long as Coach K is on the bench, the operator of that machine is set.
