Possible Dominant Big Man Headed to Durham to aide Plumlee trio

While most of the recruiting for many colleges for next year are over, there is one stud recruit still out there, due to the fact that he will be an early enrollee for the Spring 2011 term and eligible to play next season.

DeAndre Daniels, a 6'7" wingman, who is incredibly long and has three-point range is being courted intensely by Kansas, Duke, Texas and Kentucky.

Daniels is out of Woodland Hills, CA.'s Taft High School and would instantly increase the championship chances of whatever institution he chooses to attend.

In addition to being a great three-point shooter for his size, Daniels is an amazing athlete. He often skies to block shots and send home thunderous dunks due to his slashing ability and incredible length.

Duke seems to be the leader for Daniels as he originally committed to Texas, but once someone de-committs, they hardly ever re-committ.

Daniels is visiting the Blue Devils this weekend and has no visit scheduled to Kansas or Kentucky, although he has already visited them and has been being pursued by them for quite some time now. Daniels just picked up a Duke offer a few weeks ago.

As I said, whoever adds this phenom, will be getting a quality and beyond college ready player immediately when he steps foot on campus.

Sulaimon Seals It for Duke

The Duke Blue Devils have been on a roll this week by earlier scoring a commitment from five star forward Alex Murphy for the class of 2012.

Then on Wednesday, the Devils defeated their fiercest and in-state rival North Carolina 79-73 behind Nolan Smith's 34 points.

On Thursday, the ball kept rolling in Duke's favor as five star shooting guard Rasheed Sulaimon from Houston committed. Sulaimon is a typical Duke type of player as he can stroke the three ball with ease and is a very talented scorer much in the Jay Williams mold.

Sulaimon is 6'3" and most comfortable on the wing where he can knock down the three or slash to the rack and finish. Perhaps, the best quality possessed by Sulaimon is his incredible first step.

He is very quick and has a high basketball IQ, sound like a Dukie yet? Sulaimon said that Baylor and Texas were also in his consideration but his AAU coach Marland Lowe said that Duke has been far out in front for quite some time now.

Sulaimon is ranked no.18 overall by ESPN and no.19 overall by scout.com. Even though the Devils lose stars Smith and Kyle Singler but should boast a squad next year including Kyrie Irving, Austin Rivers, all three Plumlee brothers, Seth Curry, Andre Dawkins, Quinn Cook, Michael Gbinije, Josh Hairston and Tyler Thornton.

No matter how many of the great players recruited and signed by Duke go pro early, they keep reloading and re-oiling the machine and as long as Coach K is on the bench, the operator of that machine is set.

1st Big-Time Recruit of 2012 Opts for Durham

Have you enjoyed watching Kyle Singler's silky smooth inside-outside game at Duke for the last four years? Well if you have, then get ready to see the carbon copy (although a little more athletic) in Alex Murphy.

Murphy is a 6'8" high school junior from South Kingstown, R.I. and plays his ball at the private school, the St. Mark's School in Southborough, Mass.

Murphy is the younger brother of Florida Gators forward Erik Murphy who was a four star recruit and didn't pan out at the next level with the Gators. Alex, however, possesses a skill set that Erik does not.

Alex can shoot the ball deadly from up to about 23 feet, as well as slash to the rim and deliver amazing jams.

Probably what suits him the most for the system of coach Mike Krzyzewski is his extremely high basketball IQ. Much like Singler, Murphy is an excellent ball handler and defender on the wing with his length.

One thing that Alex must do though is add just a bit of strength, although in Duke's spread the floor and nail open three's offense, it may not be as big of a deal as it would somewhere else.

Murphy plays on the travel team the New England Playaz with fellow St. Mark's teammate 7-footer Kaleb Tarczewski who is also considering the Blue Devils for college.

Murphy is ranked No.15 overall by ESPN in 2012 and Tarczewski is No.8. Duke is also targeting No.1 6'10" Andre Drummond, No.5 6'5" wing Shabazz Muhammad and No.18 6'3" combo guard Rasheed Sulaimon.

Duke strikes first in picking up the first big wing commit of the class. With next year's Blue Devil team being freshman and sophomore heavy and the future of stars Kyrie Irving and Austin Rivers uncertain, Murphy is a huge grab early in the recruiting season for Krzyzewski.
